La conciencia más excelente, global, universal, más allá de todos los fenómenos, más allá del pensamiento y del no­pensamiento. Zazen es alcanzar la condición HISHIRYO. El abandono del ego es Satori. La Nada incluye el Todo. Una mano abierta puede recibirlo todo. Una botella vacía puede ser llenada.

HISHIRYO es la conciencia cósmica, y no la conciencia personal. Podemos experimentarla durante Zazen.  El subconsciente surge así a la superficie, gracias a este abandono. Los pensamientos se alargan, se ensanchan profundamente y alcanzan la conciencia universal.  Este es el arte esencial del Zazen. El Maestro Dogen escribió: "Pensad sin pensar. ¿Cómo se piensa sin pensar? Pensando desde el fondo del no­pensamiento. " Los sentidos de nuestra conciencia no pueden imaginarla. Las categorías no pueden definirla.

Y poco a poco, una vez que las imágenes del subconsciente han surgido y desaparecido, se llega al subconsciente profundo, sin pensamiento, más allá de cualquier pensamiento, HISHIRYO, verdadera pureza. HISHIRYO es el inconsciente del Zen.  FU SHIRYO es el no­pensamiento. HISHIRYO es el Pensamiento Absoluto, más allá del pensamiento y del no­pensamiento.  Más allá de todos los problemas de la conciencia personal. Es nuestra Naturaleza Original, o Naturaleza de Buda, o Inconsciente Cósmico Cuando el intelecto se vacía y se vuelve sereno, apacible, nada puede detener la corriente de vida profunda, intuitiva, ilimitada que surge desde lo más profundo de nuestro ser y que es anterior a cualquier pensamiento.
